Our building operated as a feed mill in Jonestown from 1954-2017. When the owners were looking for a permanent place to operate the childcare facility, the beauty of the building could not be overlooked. It was a giant task to preserve as much asthetics to the old building as possible while making a completely functional, state of the art childcare center. We achieved it!
We wanted the children to experience nature in their surroundings while in our care. When designing the playground we wanted to keep it as natural as possible. The older children have logs and bridges to climb on and under and the little ones have soft turf to crawl and run on. When they spend time outdoors, they really are emersed in nature.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Advertising and after many years working in the retail industry I started my family. It was after I had my second daughter that I opened my first daycare out of my home in 2008. It became a passion of mine to provide my community with quality childcare and the vision grew into what it is today!

I go by Lo! I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and that is where I spent the first 10 years of my career. I worked with at risk youth and when I became a mom I wanted a career that would allow me more time to spend with my family. That is when I joined forces with Lauren Yenik to build our dream together!
Amber LaChette Director
I have an Associate's degree in Human Services. My husband and I adopted our two girls 4 years ago. I have worked in Childcare for 21 years and was a Director at two other centers before finding my home here at The Learning Mill. I have been with the company for over 9 years and enjoy every minute!
